Conditions We Treat

Our mental health program cares for adults living with conditions such as:

Many people also struggle with alcohol or drug use. If that’s true for you, our dual diagnosis care treats both conditions at the same time.

Not sure your situation fits? Call our admissions team. They’ll ask a few questions to help find the right level of care.

Is Residential Mental Health Treatment Right for You?

Our residential program may be a good fit if:

  • Your symptoms make daily life, work or relationships hard to manage, and weekly therapy hasn’t been enough.
  • You’d benefit from a structured setting away from everyday stress and triggers.
  • You’ve recently finished a hospital stay or other acute care and need continued support before going home.
  • You’re ready to take an active part in your treatment.

This is a subacute program. It isn’t a hospital or a crisis unit. If you’re in danger right now, call 911 or call or text 988.

Levels of Mental Health Care

Your care team recommends where you start and when you’re ready to step down.

  • Residential (inpatient) treatment: You live on campus in a shared double room. Your days are structured around individual therapy, group therapy, skill-building and wellness activities. Psychiatric care and medication management are part of your plan when appropriate.
  • Partial hospitalization (PHP): Structured full-day programming as you take on more independence.
  • Intensive outpatient program (IOP): A later step-down level of care, held in the community with weekday evening sessions.
  • Aftercare planning: Before you leave, our team helps you build a discharge plan that can include referrals to outpatient therapy and local mental health resources.

There’s no set number of days at any level. Your care team sets the length of your stay based on your needs and progress.

What a Typical Day Includes

Each day balances therapy, activity, meals and rest. Your schedule is built around your treatment plan, so it can look a little different from someone else’s.

Therapy and skill-building

  • Individual therapy with your therapist
  • Group therapy with peers working on similar challenges
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which helps you notice and change unhelpful thought patterns
  • Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), which builds skills for handling strong emotions and relationships
  • Cognitive processing therapy (CPT), which helps people work through trauma
  • Family education through our weekly family education program, onsite and by telehealth

Wellness and recreation

  • Guided meditation groups and self-guided yoga
  • Art activities and therapeutic animal visits
  • A swimming pool, two fitness centers (one women-only), a half-court basketball court and sand volleyball
  • Walking trails, a meditation garden and a vegetable garden
  • Ping pong and pool tables for downtime

Meals and rooms

Meals are prepared by our executive chef in a full-service kitchen. Residential clients stay in shared double rooms.

How Admission Works

Getting started takes a few steps. Our admissions team walks you through each one.

  1. Call (561) 340-7269. Tell us what’s going on. You can call for yourself or a loved one.
  2. Answer screening questions. We’ll ask about your symptoms, current treatment, medications, any substance use and your safety. This helps us recommend the right level of care.
  3. Review your insurance. Our admissions team can review your insurance with you. You can also check your insurance benefits online first.
  4. Plan your arrival. Pack one bag. Bring photo ID, your current prescriptions and a list of your doctors and other providers. Ask for the full packing list.
  5. Meet your care team. After a full assessment, your care team builds a treatment plan with you.

See our admissions process for more details. If we’re not the right fit, our team can help you think through other options.

Mental Health Treatment FAQs

What mental health conditions do you treat?

Our program cares for adults with conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, bipolar disorder and other mood disorders. We also treat co-occurring substance use through dual diagnosis care. Every person is assessed before admission, so call (561) 340-7269 and our admissions team can tell you whether our program fits your needs.

Is inpatient mental health treatment voluntary?

Yes. Our program is voluntary. We encourage you to complete your treatment plan, but you have the right to leave, unless you’re considered a danger to yourself or others. If you’re thinking about leaving early, talk with your care team first. They can help you plan a safe next step so you’re not left without support.

How long does residential mental health treatment last?

It depends on you. Your care team sets the length of your stay based on your symptoms, your progress and your goals. They review your plan with you along the way. When you’re ready, they may recommend stepping down to partial hospitalization (PHP) or IOP before you return to daily life.

Can I come here after a psychiatric hospital stay?

Often, yes. Our subacute residential program can be a next step for adults who have finished acute care, such as a hospital stay, and are stable but not ready to go home. Our admissions team will ask about your recent care, medications and safety to make sure our program is the right fit for you.

Can my family visit or take part in treatment?

Yes, family involvement is encouraged. Loved ones can join our weekly family education program, held onsite and by telehealth. It helps families understand mental health conditions and learn how to support recovery. In-person visits are arranged with your care team’s approval, based on how you’re doing and your treatment plan.

Can you check my insurance?

Our admissions team can review your insurance with you when you call (561) 340-7269. You can also start online: Check your insurance benefits. If you don’t have insurance, ask our admissions team about other ways to pay before you begin treatment.
