Levels of Care at Our Palm Beach County Campus

Treatment starts with an assessment. The care team then recommends where you begin. Many people move through more than one level of care as they progress.

Substance use treatment

  • Medical detox: A medical team monitors and treats withdrawal so you can get through it as safely and comfortably as possible. Alcohol and benzodiazepine withdrawal can be dangerous without medical care.
  • Intensive inpatient and residential treatment: You live on campus and take part in individual and group therapy in a structured, supportive setting.
  • Partial hospitalization (PHP): A step down from residential care that keeps a high level of structure and clinical support.
  • Intensive outpatient program (IOP): A later step-down level of care.
  • Aftercare planning: Before you finish treatment, the care team helps you plan ongoing support, such as recovery meetings and follow-up care.

Mental health treatment

Adults whose main concern is a mental health condition can receive residential treatment, PHP or IOP. The care team looks at your symptoms, history and goals to recommend a starting point.

Dual diagnosis

Substance use often happens alongside conditions such as depression, anxiety or PTSD. Our dual diagnosis treatment treats both together rather than one at a time.

Choosing Drug and Alcohol Rehab in Florida’s Palm Beach County

Palm Beach County has many treatment programs, and they aren’t all alike. As you compare options, these questions can help:

  • Is the program accredited, for example by The Joint Commission?
  • Is it licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families?
  • Does it offer medical detox if you need it?
  • Can it treat mental health conditions along with substance use?
  • How will it involve your family?
  • Will it help you plan for life after treatment?

Be cautious if anyone offers you free rent, travel, gifts or cash to choose a particular program. Florida law prohibits paying for patient referrals. Our guide to finding a quality rehab center covers other warning signs.

Getting treatment close to home can also make it easier for family to attend education sessions. It can also help you connect with local support in Palm Beach County when you finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is The Recovery Village Palm Beach at Baptist Health?

Our campus is at 4905 Lantana Rd., Lake Worth, FL 33463, in central Palm Beach County. You can reach it from I-95 or Florida’s Turnpike, with Lantana Road leading to our entrance and parking available on site. Call (561) 340-7269 if you’d like help planning your trip or want to talk about treatment options.

What levels of care do you offer?

For substance use, we offer medical detox, intensive inpatient care, residential treatment, partial hospitalization (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and aftercare planning. For mental health, we offer residential care, PHP and IOP. After an assessment, the care team recommends where you should start and how you’ll step down over time.

Do you treat mental health and addiction together?

Yes. Many people with a substance use disorder also live with depression, anxiety, PTSD or another mental health condition. Our dual diagnosis care treats both at the same time, using therapies such as CBT, DBT and CPT along with individual and group therapy, so you can work on both conditions in one plan.

How long does rehab take?

There’s no fixed timeline. The care team sets your length of stay based on your needs and adjusts it as you move through detox, residential care and step-down levels. Our admissions team can explain what to expect for your situation before you arrive, so you can plan for work and family.

Can my family be involved in treatment?

Yes. We offer a weekly family education program, onsite and by telehealth, so relatives can learn about addiction and recovery wherever they live, and visits are arranged with the care team’s approval. Families who live in Palm Beach County may find it easy to join sessions in person because the campus is close by.

Do you only treat people who live in Palm Beach County?

No. Our campus is in Palm Beach County, but adults 18 and older from other parts of Florida can contact our admissions team to see whether our programs fit their needs. If you live farther away, we can talk through which levels of care make sense from where you live.
